DODGE COUNTY, WI — The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two drivers who died Wednesday evening following a head-on collision on Interstate 41 near Lomira, reports WBAY.
The accident happened on the southbound side of I-41 near Exit 85 to Wisconsin State Highway 67. Deputies rushed to the scene shortly after 6:20 p.m.
Officials say Grace Campagna, 82, of Campbellsport, was driving a 2011 Subaru SUV northbound on the southbound lanes. The wrong-way Subaru collided head-on with a 2008 Honda minivan driven by 34-year-old Ying Vang, of Oshkosh.
Both drivers were pronounced deceased on the scene by first responders. Their identities were verified Friday morning by the DCSO.
At this time, it remains unclear why Campagna was driving against traffic, but the case is being handled by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.
