4One4 All Come-Unity Event

Our law firm was a primary sponsor of Mike Taylor’s 4One4 All Come-Unity Event. Mike Taylor grew up in Milwaukee, was drafted into the NBA and now plays in the BIG3, a 3 on 3 basketball league started by Ice Cube. He established the Taylor-Made Foundation to give back to inner-city youth in Milwaukee where he grew up, and this event was held in his old neighborhood which is infamous as the zip code with the most incarcerated residents per capita in the nation. This event was all about building a community and a neighborhood coming together in unity. We were proud to be a part of it.

Here is an article from CBS about the event: First Annual ‘4One4All Come Unity’ Event

Born 2 Bake With Morgan Pop-Up Shop

Morgan Washington is an 11-year old baker and entrepreneur who attends Les Paul Middle School in Waukesha. She dreams of being featured on Food Network and one day opening her own bakery. She took her first steps toward her dream by selling her cookies, cakes, pies and cupcakes in a pop-up shop every Saturday this summer throughout the Milwaukee metro as part of the Born 2 Dream program. We were proud to sponsor these pop-up shops.

Born 2 Bake is a program from Born 2 Dream, a nonprofit organization founded and operated by Darrin Reasby of R U Kidding Me Bakery.

Running Rebels

The Running Rebels is a community organization designed to give Milwaukee youth-positive outlets like basketball. Our firm used the Running Rebels moving services when we moved our long-time Milwaukee office located at 633 W. Wisconsin Ave to our new office located in the ASQ Center located at 418 N. Plankinton, Suite 418. Part of the move involved downsizing, so we were happy to donate a ton of office furniture and supplies that the Running Rebels used to furnish their expanded offices.

Victory Over Violence Park

Our firm has a long history of working in the Milwaukee community. Charles Hausmann, Of Counsel, was the founder of the Victory Over Violence Park project, which helped to restore a neglected area of the inner city of Milwaukee. He was particularly bothered that the site had sat vacant and unattended for three decades and that the owner, the City of Milwaukee, took no action to develop or rehabilitate the site in the midst of a major thoroughfare running north and south through Milwaukee’s central city. Over the years, the site had become a gathering place for drug dealers and criminal activity. As an attorney with many central city clients, Hausmann had known several young men who had lost their lives in acts of senseless violence. He wanted to create a memorial to those young people and create a symbol of hope and beauty to the concept that a community could have Victory Over Violence. The park was to be a line in the sand, a statement that violence had to stop and that positive trumped negative.

The Opportunity To Serve

Our attorneys are members of various organizations, including the National Crime Victim Bar Association, American Association for Justice and Wisconsin Association for Justice. All of our attorneys have close Wisconsin ties. We grew up and went to school here, and we continue to reside in this area with our families. We participate in such charitable efforts because we want to give back to the community, which gave us so much.

Besides participating in charitable causes, we also attempt to serve our community by representing injured people who were victims of negligence.  Our goal is to help make such individuals whole. By doing so, we have the chance to help victims and families who otherwise would not know where to turn for assistance. We are especially grateful to such residents for putting their trust in us.
