MILWAUKEE, WI — A 22-year-old woman has been identified as the passenger who died Tuesday night following a rollover crash in Milwaukee’s south side, reports TMJ4.
The collision occurred at the intersection of South 27th Street and West Oklahoma Avenue, in the city’s Southgate neighborhood. First responders were dispatched to the area shortly after 6:27 a.m.
Milwaukee Police said the young woman, Sierra Hill, was traveling in an SUV whose driver ran a red light at the intersection. Moments later, it was struck by another vehicle, causing the SUV to run down 27th Street, near Leon’s Frozen Custard. A surveillance camera captured the SUV flipping twice and doing a complete spin before it slammed into a streetlight.
Hill succumbed to her injuries at the scene, confirmed officials.
The driver, 35, was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition.
An investigation remains underway. According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the District Attorney’s Office is working to determine whether charges will be filed.
