WAUPACA COUNTY, WI — A 47-year-old man from Neenah has been arrested following a wrong-way crash Saturday night, December 16, in Weyauwega that claimed four lives, reports TMJ4.

The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on a stretch of U.S. Highway 10 at about 9:15 p.m.

Preliminary details indicate that the suspect was driving a pickup truck westbound in the eastbound lanes when the vehicle collided head-on with an oncoming SUV.

Three people succumbed to their injuries at the scene, confirmed the sheriff’s office. A third victim was later pronounced deceased at a hospital. A statement released from Weyauwega-Fremont Schools confirmed that at least two of those killed were juveniles.

Following the fatal collision, the suspect was taken into custody. He faces “charges of four counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle,” as well as “operating while revoked and causing death.”
