MILWAUKEE, WI — Three people who died early Friday after a hit-and-run collision in Milwaukee’s Havenwoods area have been identified, according to TMJ4.

The fatal collision unfolded at West Florist Avenue and North Sherman Boulevard, just after 2:00 a.m.

Milwaukee Police said 23-year-old Everton Stewart was intoxicated and driving westbound at a high rate of speed on West Florist Avenue when he ran a red light. Moments later, his Toyota struck a white Nissan that was heading southbound on North Sherman Boulevard, causing the Nissan to slam into a tree with great force.

The driver of the Nissan, 28-year-old Ebony S. Johnson, was ejected during the crash and suffered life-threatening injuries. She was rushed to an area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The Nissan’s two passengers, 31-year-old Lashonda Jackson and 28-year-old Bobbie Latasha Nicole Dyson, also died as a result of their injuries.

Stewart, who fled the scene on foot, was later arrested and taken to a hospital for non-fatal injuries. Suspected of operating while intoxicated, he is now facing 12 criminal counts. All charges amount to up to 333 years in prison time.
