SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI — A 25-year-old woman faces multiple charges after a vehicle crashed into Lake Michigan late last Monday in Sheboygan, claiming the life of another woman, reports TMJ4.
The fatal wreck occurred in the area of North Avenue and North 3rd Street on September 4, at about 11:30 p.m.
Sheboygan Police said the 25-year-old woman was driving a sedan eastbound on North Avenue when she failed to negotiate a turn. Moments later, the vehicle ran off the roadway and landed in the lake.
A passenger in the crashed vehicle, Angela Williams, 37, of Sheboygan, was killed in the accident.
The driver, who suffered serious injuries, was transported to an area hospital. She was later arrested and now faces several charges being reviewed by the Sheboygan County District Attorney’s Office, including “Operating while under the influence causing death, Homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle, 1st-degree recklessly endangering safety, and Knowingly operating while revoke causing death.”
Investigators have determined that both speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the fatal wreck.
