MILWAUKEE, WI — An 11-year-old boy has died after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle Sunday afternoon in northwest Milwaukee, according to TMJ4.
Milwaukee Police said the incident occurred near West Fond du Lac Avenue and West Hoyt Place, in the Grasslyn Manor area, at about 3:15 p.m.
The boy, who was crossing Fond du Lac Avenue on his bike, was hit by a vehicle whose driver continued eastbound on the road without stopping or alerting authorities.
The child suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. On Wednesday afternoon, August 30, three days after the crash, the MPD confirmed that the victim had died.
On Tuesday, just the day before, investigators announced they had arrested a 30-year-old Milwaukee man in connection to the incident, and that they were able to recover the striking vehicle. Criminal charges are currently pending with the DA’s office.
