MARINETTE COUNTY, WI — Authorities have identified the 48-year-old man who died early Sunday after a hit-and-run crash involving a bicycle near the Wisconsin-Michigan state border in Marinette, reports We Are Green Bay.
The fatal incident occurred on the Interstate Bridge at around 2:20 a.m. and prompted a response from at least eight area agencies.
While the circumstances of the event are still being investigated, the Marinette Police Department said the victim was riding a bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle whose driver then fled the scene.
The victim, who succumbed to his injuries at the scene, has since been identified as David Joesph Fournier, of Menominee, Michigan.
An investigation remains ongoing, but authorities have now identified a person of interest and have located the suspect vehicle.
