MILWAUKEE, WI — A 57-year-old man has died more than two weeks after a hit-and-run pedestrian crash Friday, July 7, in northwest Milwaukee, according to TMJ4.
The incident occurred at the intersection of West Fond du Lac Avenue and North 56th Street, near Midtown Center, in the Capitol Heights neighborhood.
A preliminary investigation indicates the man was walking eastbound across 56th Street, in a marked crosswalk, at the same time a white Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling east on Fond du Lac Avenue. As the F-150 turned onto 56th Street, it struck the male pedestrian. The victim, who was pinned underneath the vehicle, was dragged “for an unknown distance” before he was able to detach himself. Authorities said the driver continued away from the scene without stopping to render aid.
According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Report, the victim died at the hospital on July 23, a little over two weeks after suffering serious injuries in the incident. He has since been identified as David A. Green, a Milwaukee resident.
At this time, no other information on the hit-and-run suspect or fleeing vehicle has been released to the public.
