MILWAUKEE, WI — A 32-year-old man has died following a collision Monday, June 26, in northwest Milwaukee that left two children seriously injured, according to TMJ4.
The crash happened near North 76th Street and West Florist Avenue, in the city’s Silver Spring neighborhood, at about 1:00 p.m.
Milwaukee Police said the man was driving eastbound on Florist Avenue when he tried to turn left onto 76th Street. His vehicle struck a second vehicle heading westbound on Florist Avenue, which caused both vehicles to strike a third vehicle.
The driver of the first vehicle, who suffered life-threatening injuries, was rushed to an area hospital, where doctors declared the patient brain-dead three days later, on June 29. He was pronounced deceased shortly after.
His two child passengers, a 3-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy, were transported to a local hospital after being extricated from the vehicle. Officials said they sustained serious but non-fatal injuries.
Responding officers arrested the second driver, a 22-year-old man, for a license violation. He has since been charged with “knowingly operating while revoked – causing death,” which is expected to be reviewed by the district attorney.
