MILWAUKEE, WI — A man was critically injured Monday afternoon due to a multi-vehicle wreck in northwest Milwaukee that also left two young children seriously hurt, reports TMJ4.
Milwaukee Police said the collision occurred at the intersection of North 76th Street and West Florist Avenue, in the Silver Spring neighborhood. It was first reported at about 1:00 p.m.
An early investigation indicates the man was driving eastbound on Florist Avenue. As he tried to turn left onto 76th Street, his vehicle collided with another vehicle that was heading westbound on Florist. Officials said the initial crash caused the two vehicles to collide with a third vehicle in the area.
The driver of the first vehicle, a 32-year-old man of Milwaukee, suffered life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to an area hospital where his condition remains undisclosed.
First responders had to perform a rescue extrication to remove his two passengers, a 3-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy. Both children sustained serious injuries considered non-life-threatening.
No other major injuries were reported in the event, but the driver of the second vehicle, a 22-year-old man, also of Milwaukee, was taken into custody for a license violation.
