KENOSHA COUNTY, WI — A 36-year-old man has been identified as the pedestrian who died early Sunday after a hit-and-run crash on Wisconsin State Highway 158 in Kenosha, reports FOX 6 Milwaukee.

Kenosha Police have also since learned that the victim, Scott David Mingilino, of Kenosha, was involved in a separate crash near 56th Street and Green Bay Road. By the time officers arrived shortly before 1:00 a.m., Mingilino had fled the scene.

According to authorities, Mingilino was driving a black SUV northbound on the southbound side of Green Bay Road when the SUV collided head-on with a semi-truck. Mingilino then exit his vehicle and ran from the crash site.

At around 2:00 a.m., a Kenosha County deputy was driving westbound on WIS-158 when he saw Mingilino lying on the shoulder of the road, after a hit-and-run pedestrian crash.

Despite life-saving measures, Mingilino was pronounced deceased at the scene.

On the following day, Monday, June 26, a Salem resident came forward to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department and identified himself as the hit-and-run driver of the second crash. He has since been taken into custody for “hit-and-run involving death.” He was booked into Kenosha County Jail and faces pending charges.
