News UPDATE: Man charged after crash that killed young girl in Sheboygan

SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI — A man has been formally charged after a two-vehicle crash last month in Sheboygan that hit a group of pedestrians and claimed the life of a 4-year-old girl, according to WBAY.

The fatal incident occurred at the intersection of North 21st Street and Saemann Avenue on the evening of April 12. First responders were dispatched to the scene at around 5:00 p.m.

According to authorities, a pickup truck was heading southbound on North 21st Street when it hit a vehicle traveling eastbound on Saemann Avenue. The impact of the crash sent one of the vehicles off the roadway and into a group of pedestrians, which including the 4-year-old girl.

The young girl died as a result of injuries suffered in the crash, confirmed officials. Three other people were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries.

An investigator noted in the criminal complaint that the suspect did not possess a valid driver’s license. Data from the suspect’s vehicle also indicates he failed to make a complete stop at the stop sign before the crash.

If convicted, the defendant could be fined up to $10,000, possibly face six years in prison, and have his license revoked for 6 months.
