MILWAUKEE, WI — A 71-year-old Greenfield man who died Wednesday evening after a pedestrian crash in Milwaukee’s south side had gone missing just prior to the incident, reports WISN.
Milwaukee Police and first responders responded to the scene at the intersection of South 27th Street and West Parnell Avenue, near the city’s Gra-Ram and Copernicus Park areas, shortly after 7:15 p.m.
Details remain limited, but the victim’s family had reported him missing about an hour before the fatal crash. The driver of the striking vehicle, who stayed at the site, told authorities the male pedestrian ran out into the roadway, and that she had not seen him before the incident.
Authorities confirmed the victim, identified by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office on Thursday as Lawrence Strzelecki, was pronounced deceased on the scene.
No further information has been made available at this time, and no charges have been reported.
