ST. FRANCIS, WI – A driver fled from police, which began a chase that eventually ended when he crashed into another vehicle, injuring himself and two others Thursday.

CBS 58 said the events unfolded around 2:30 p.m. in the vicinity of East Layton Avenue & South Pine Avenue, along the Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport, when the officer pulled over the driver, a 63-year-old man from South Milwaukee. After the motorist gave the officer his driver’s license, he sped away, and the pursuit began.

Eventually, the driver crashed into a vehicle in the area of South Kinnickinnic Avenue and East Holt Avenue, which stopped the chase. The two inside the vehicle were treated on-site for minor wounds, while the 63-year-old man was transported to a hospital for severe injuries.

Police said they started an investigation but have not released additional information at this time, including why the traffic stop was initiated nor publicly identified the 63-year-old man.
