MILWAUKEE, WI – A 24-year-old man was fleeing from police while driving and ran a red light, crashing into two vehicles, claiming one life and critically injuring another Tuesday.
TMJ4 said this collision happened after 10 p.m. in the vicinity of North 27th Street and West Saint Paul Avenue. A police officer tried to pull over the 24-year-old man. But he refused and drove off, thus initiating the chase, which was terminated when he collided with the two automobiles, one of them being a black car, which was nearly totaled.
While the driver of the second vehicle was left unscathed, the other driver, a 65-year-old woman, was left in critical condition, while the passenger with her, a 69-year-old man, passed away at the scene.
First responders revealed that the 24-year-old man was left briefly unconscious after ramming into the vehicles. Paramedics were able to revive him via CPR before an ambulance took him to a hospital. The unidentified suspect is in stable condition and was booked into custody.
As it stands, the 24-year-old man has two active felony criminal cases. Some of his charges consist of Felony Bail Jumping, Fleeing-Eluding, 2nd-Degree Reckless Endangering Safety, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of THC, Operating After Revocation, and Possession of Illegally Obtained Prescription.
Police have not shared other details surrounding this pursuit-collision other than the fact that the man allegedly had drugs and a gun with him.
