MILWAUKEE, WI – A driver, a 31-year-old adult, ran a red light, which led to a collision with two other vehicles, claiming the life of another motorist, a 55-year-old woman, Tuesday.
This crash happened around 4 p.m. at the North Sherman Boulevard and West Villard Avenue junction. TMJ4 said that when the 31-year-old adult ran a red light, they struck a second vehicle, which led it to overturn, and that car then crashed into a third vehicle, which then collided with a fourth vehicle.
The 55-year-old woman, who was the driver of the second vehicle, was taken to a hospital where she later died. The 11-year-old child with her is expected to survive. It is unclear if the pre-teen was transported to a hospital for treatment.
It appears the fourth vehicle that was struck was a police car. One of the police officers sought medical attention, although no serious wounds appeared to have been sustained.
Police did arrest the 31-year-old driver and will likely be facing unspecified charges.
