MILWAUKEE, WI — Five people, all teenagers and young adults, were hospitalized Tuesday, January 30, when a police pursuit ended in a fiery crash in northwest Milwaukee, reports CBS58.
The accident happened near North 83rd Street and West Burleigh Street, in the city’s Kops Park neighborhood.
According to Milwaukee Police, the events unfolded when officers attempted a traffic stop on a car that was connected to an armed robbery. A pursuit was prompted when the driver failed to stop. Ultimately, the suspect lost control of the vehicle, which collided with a tree at the above location.
All occupants of the fleeing car–a 14-year-old girl, an 18-year-old man, a 19-year-old woman, as well as a man and a woman both aged 20–were placed under custody and transported to an area hospital for injuries considered non-life-threatening.
The MPD indicated the multiple firearms were discovered in the vehicle, and that the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office is expected to review charges.
