MILWAUKEE, WI — Three children were injured, one critically, Thursday afternoon due to a hit-and-run crash involving a stolen vehicle in southwest Milwaukee, according to TMJ4.

Milwaukee Police said the collision took place at South 37th Street and West Orchard Street, in the Burnham Park area, at about 1:21 p.m.

Preliminary details show that a stolen vehicle lost control and collided with a parked vehicle. Witnesses said they saw the driver and one passenger flee the scene on foot moments later.

Three passengers who were left behind in the vehicle–an 11-year-old, a 16-year-old, and a 14-year-old–were all transported to an area hospital. Authorities said the 11-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries.

Authorities indicated that the passengers were arrested, but did not report on any pending charges. An investigation and search for the fleeing suspects remain ongoing.

No other injuries were reported, but the owner of the parked work truck said they anticipate that the vehicle damage will impact to their small business.
