RACINE COUNTY, WI — Authorities responded to an injury collision and vehicle fire Monday afternoon on Wisconsin State Highway 20 near southeast Waterford, according to Racine County News/Scanner.
Kansasville Fire & Rescue, the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, and EMS personnel were dispatched to the scene in the 27600 block of WIS-20 (Washington Avenue) at around 1:45 p.m.
Preliminary details show a white Ford F-250 crews cab pickup truck was stopped and about to turn into a residential driveway when it was rear-ended by a grey or brown extended-cab Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The force of the crash caused the Ford to catch on fire, which was extinguished by responding fire crews.
The driver of the Ford received treatment from Med Unit 532 at the scene and then was taken to Aurora Medical Center – Burlington for injuries that appeared to be non-life-threatening.
The driver of the Chevrolet declined treatment or transport to a hospital, but remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Officials had part of WIS-20 shut down by the RASO to accommodate the emergency response.
