RACINE COUNTY, WI — A rollover crash involving a box truck left one person injured Thursday afternoon on Interstate 94/41 near southwest Caledonia, according to TMJ4.

The accident happened on the northbound lanes of I-94/41 approaching Exit 329 to County Highway K (Northwestern Avenue), at around 1:30 p.m.

A preliminary investigation found that the box truck was transporting windows when it had a mechanical problem in which lug nuts from a rear tire were sheared off. The issue caused the box truck to roll and land on its side, leaving three lanes blocked.

Authorities said one of the sheared-off lug nuts hit and damaged the windshield of another vehicle.

One person suffered minor injuries, but it was not immediately clear whether the patient was the truck driver or the driver of the other vehicle.

By 1:30 p.m., the semi had been removed from the roadway, and all travel lanes were announced reopened.
