News: Pedestrian dies following hit-and-run crash at Oshkosh intersection

WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WI — A 38-year-old man was fatally hit by a vehicle that fled the scene Wednesday evening in Oshkosh, according to NBC26.

The incident was reported at the corner of Ohio Street and 3rd Avenue, at about 6:36 p.m.

Details remain limited, but Oshkosh Police Department officials said the male pedestrian was struck by an unspecified vehicle that failed to stop after the impact.

First responders pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Authorities indicated that a suspect was later located and arrested, though no information regarding pending charges has been shared. The vehicle believed to be involved in the incident was also recovered.

An investigation is being handled by Oshkosh Police Department detectives and the department’s Accident Investigation Team.
