RACINE COUNTY, WI — An injury collision involving a telephone pole was reported last Friday, January 19, off Sunnyside Drive in the Town of Dover, according to Racine County News/Scanner.
Kansasville Fire & Rescue Department crews were dispatched to the scene in the 1500 block of the road (County Highway N) at around 5:30 p.m., after receiving a report about a pickup truck that had come to rest in a ditch after striking the pole.
It was not immediately apparent what caused the accident, but units arrived to find the maroon pickup heavily damaged, with its airbags deployed, nearly 20 yards off of the roadway.
The male driver, who was found alone in the vehicle, was evaluated for injuries at the scene and then taken to a hospital in Burlington.
WE Energies crews were requested at the site to assess damage to the high-voltage power pole.
By 6:15 p.m., all remaining KFRD units had left the scene, but an investigation by the Racine County Sheriff’s Office remains underway.
