JEFFERSON COUNTY, WI — One person lost their life following a two-vehicle wreck Tuesday morning on Wisconsin State Highway 18 in Lake Ripley, according to TMJ4.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said the fatal accident happened at Hope Lake Road, in an area northeast of Cambridge.
A preliminary investigation indicates a semi-truck was heading eastbound on WIS-18 at the same time an SUV was traveling westbound on the same road. At one point, for reasons officials say are partially weather-related road conditions, the two vehicles collided head-on.
While the driver of the semi was not hurt, the driver of the SUV succumbed to their injuries at the scene. No other passengers were involved.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s officials continue to investigate.
