WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — One person died last Wednesday, December 6, as a result of a hit-and-run collision near an Interstate 94 entrance ramp in Delafield, according to FOX 6 Milwaukee.
The incident occurred on Genesee Street and eastbound Indian Spring Drive, at about 6:50 p.m.
Little information has been made available, but officials say the striking vehicle, which left the scene before authorities arrived, was later discovered about 250 feet off the roadway, in a nearby wooded area.
First responders pronounced the driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles deceased at the scene, but officials have not clarified whether the decedent was the victim or the striking driver.
Delafield Police Department was joined by multiple area agencies, including Lake Country Fire and Rescue crews, “the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department, and the Waukesha County Medical Examiner’s Office.”
