MILWAUKEE, WI — Two people, including a child, were hospitalized early Friday after a crash involving a semi-truck on Milwaukee’s north side, reports WISN.
Milwaukee Fire Department officials said the accident occurred near North 25th Street and West Villard Avenue, in the city’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. First responders were dispatched to the area some time after 3:30 a.m.
Details are limited, but the child and an adult were occupants of an SUV that collided head-on with the semi-truck. The impact left the SUV significant damaged and with its airbags deployed.
Responding crews had to extricate one person from the SUV, but officials have not confirmed whether that patient was the child. No information regarding the conditions of the victims has been shared.
A span of Villard Avenue was shut down near 25th Street during the emergency response and investigation. Motorists looking to access the Ascension Family Health Center were advised to take 22nd Street instead.
