MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — Four people were injured early Wednesday when a police pursuit led to a collision in east Greenfield, according to FOX 6 Milwaukee.
The accident happened in the area of South 43rd Street and Loomis Road, just after 3:30 a.m.
Greenfield Police said that officers attempted a traffic stop on an SUV for a speeding violation, but the vehicle fled and then slammed into a utility pole at the intersection.
All four people inside the vehicle were transported to an area hospital for unspecified injuries. Officials said the patients are all expected to survive.
The driver of the fleeing vehicle, a 22-year-old man, was place under police custody. He faces charges pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office. Officials noted that a firearm was recovered from the vehicle.
A span of 43rd Street from West Loomis Road to West Coldspring Road was shut down during the emergency response.
