FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI — A wrong-way driver was taken into custody for suspected impairment early Sunday after their car struck a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office vehicle, reports FOX 6 Milwaukee.
The wreck occurred on an unspecified stretch of U.S. Highway 151, while two deputies were trying to stop the vehicle traveling in the wrong direction.
Officials say the deputies received reports about the driver just after stopping a motorcyclist for speeding. As their squad car was then hit by the wrong-way vehicle as they tried to approached it.
No major injuries were reported, but the driver was taken into custody for suspected Operating While Impaired (OWI) and for “driving without a license or insurance.”
