CALUMET COUNTY, WI — A 19-year-old man died Wednesday evening after a two-vehicle wreck in the town of Brothertown that left another person critically injured, according to We Are Green Bay.
The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office said the fatal crash happened on U.S. Highway 151, north of Indian Road, at around 5:35 p.m.
An early investigation shows the teen, a Chilton resident, was driving northbound on the highway. At one point, his vehicle veered past the center line and entered the southbound side, where it collided head-ob with an oncoming vehicle.
Authorities said the teen, whose vehicle caught fire as a result of the impact, was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the southbound vehicle, a 28-year-old Calumet man, had to be extricated from the wreckage. He was then rush to an area hospital for life-threatening injuries.
The fatal accident drew a large emergency response, with at least six other area agencies joining the CCSO at the scene. No further information has been shared at this time, as an investigation remains underway.
