MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — A box truck caught fire Wednesday morning on Interstate 43 near Glendale, prompting a major emergency response, reports WISN.
The accident happened on the northbound lanes of I-43 at West Hampton Avenue, just west of Lincoln Park. Multiple area crews responded to the scene at around 8:00 a.m.
While it’s unclear whether a crash or a mechanical problem was the cause of the blaze, the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office said all involved occupants were accounted for. No one was reported hurt.
A section of the northbound interstate was closed as first responders tended to the area. Officials did not immediately announce an estimated clearance time.
