WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — A 17-year-old boy was injured last Friday night, October 20, due to a high-speed single-vehicle wreck off County Trunk Highway E in the Town of Eagle, reports The Freeman.
Waukesha County dispatchers received an alert about the crash, which occurred near Red Brae Drive, at 10:24 p.m.
According to preliminary details, the teen was behind the wheel of a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed when the vehicle ran off the roadway, hit multiple trees, and rolled several times.
Authorities learned that prior to the crash, the teen had posted on social media about his driving at over 100 miles per hour, even showing evidence of his speed.
First responders transported the teen to an area hospital for unspecified injuries. The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office confirmed he has since been cited for “reckless driving, failure to maintain control of vehicle, and cellphone use.”
