MILWAUKEE, WI — A 57-year-old pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries early Sunday when they were hit by a vehicle on West Capitol Drive in northwest Milwaukee, reports WISN.
The incident occurred at the intersection with North Sherman Boulevard, in the city’s Roosevelt Grove area. It was first reported shortly after 12:00 a.m.
Very few details regarding the circumstances of the event have been shared, but officials say the victim was hit by a car while in the roadway. The driver then fled the scene in the unknown vehicle before first responders arrived.
The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
As of this writing, the Milwaukee Police Department has not released a description of the hit-and-run vehicle and/or suspect.
