MARINETTE COUNTY, WI — An 8-month-old baby has died following a two-vehicle crash last Friday, October 6, on U.S. Highway 41 in Grover, reports WBAY.
The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office said the collision occurred on a stretch of US-41 at Kamm Lane, in the Peshtigo area, during the afternoon.
Preliminary details indicate 46-year-old Michael Gallbraith, of Coleman, was driving on Kamm Lane when he stopped at the stop sign and then entered the highway. Moments later, his vehicle struck a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Cody Price, of Oconto.
The child, who was restrained in a child safety seat in the victim vehicle’s rear seat, suffered unspecified injuries. She was flown by medical helicopter to an area hospital, but was pronounced deceased on Tuesday, October 10.
The sheriff’s office continues to investigate, but failure to yield at the stop sign has been determined to be a factor.
