MILWAUKEE, WI — A semi-truck overturned Tuesday afternoon on an Interstate 43/94 connector ramp in Milwaukee’s south side, prompting a partial closure, reports WISN.
The incident occurred on the westbound I-43/94 connector ramp to southbound I-94/I-41, at the Mitchell Interchange in the Gateway to Milwaukee area. It was first reported by the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office shortly after 2:00 p.m.
No details regarding the lead-up to the crash have been shared, but officials indicated that no other vehicles appear to have been involved in the semi-trailer rollover.
While no major injuries were reported, the driver was transported to an area hospital as a precautionary measure.
Only one travel lane was open at the time of the initial report, creating a traffic backup in the area. Motorists were warned that the entire ramp could be shut down as tow crews worked to clear the wreckage.
