OUTAGAMIE COUNTY, WI — A 33-year-old man was seriously injured Wednesday night when he was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in the town of Maple Creek, reports WBAY.
The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred on a stretch of County Highway W east of Buboltz Road, shortly before 7:00 p.m.
A preliminary investigation found the man, of Maple Creek, was bicycling eastbound on the highway. At one point, he was hit by a vehicle driven by a 32-year-old man, also from Maple Creek.
The cyclist, who suffered serious injuries, was rushed to an area hospital. No other information regarding his identity or condition has been disclosed.
Multiple area agencies, including the “Wisconsin State Patrol, Bear Creek Fire and First Responders, Gold Cross Ambulance, and the county highway department,” joined the OCSO at the scene.
An investigation remains open and ongoing. It remains unclear at this time whether the driver is expected to be charged.
