WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WI — Two women from Oshkosh died Tuesday afternoon after a single-vehicle wreck on County Road M near the town of Utica, reports We Are Green Bay.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office said the fatal accident occurred on a stretch of the highway just north of Banville Road, at about 3:17 p.m.
A preliminary investigation shows one vehicle was traveling southbound when, for unclear reasons, it lost control, traveled into the northbound lane, and then entered the east side ditch before rolling multiple times.
First responders with the WCSO, the Utica Fire Department, and the Oshkosh Fire Department responded to the scene where both the driver and passenger, two women aged 28 to 30, were pronounced deceased.
Two lanes of County Road M were shut down for nearly three hours during the emergency response.
No further details have been shared, but the WCSO continues to investigate.
