MILWAUKEE, WI — Authorities have confirmed that the 40-year-old man who was killed in a crash early Monday in Milwaukee’s Silver Spring area was a pedestrian and a victim of a hit-and-run, reports TMJ4.
The fatal incident was reported near the corner of North 64th Street and West Silver Spring Drive, at around 2:30 p.m.
Video footage recovered by investigators show the victim, Deon Moore, appearing to crawl across Silver Spring Drive moments before he was hit by a vehicle, believed to be an SUV.
By the time patrolling police officers arrived on the scene to find the male pedestrian in the westbound lanes, the vehicle had already fled.
Despite life-saving measures administered by the officers, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed officials.
