BROWN COUNTY, WI — A 14-year-old was hospitalized following a hit-and-run pedestrian crash Wednesday afternoon in Green Bay’s east side, reports WBAY.
The incident took place in the area of Main Street and North Baird Street, north of the East River, at around 2:00 p.m.
While officials have not released the sequence of events leading up to the crash, witnesses said the teen was hit by a pickup truck that was heading southbound on Baird Street and trying to turn west onto Main Street. The vehicle, described as a newer black Ford or Chevrolet that was flying a large Mexican flag affixed to its bed, then fled the scene without stopping.
Local police officials acknowledged that the description of the suspect vehicle may match many pickup trucks observed in the area, with Mexican Independence Day celebrations planned for this upcoming Saturday. However, the community is urged to take note of similar vehicles that may appear to have front-end damage near the bumper.
