WAUKESHA, WI — One person was hospitalized following a rollover wreck Sunday morning off Interstate 94 in northwest Waukesha, according to Waukesha Alerts.
The accident happened on a stretch of I-94 at North Grandview Boulevard (Exit 293). Six City of Waukesha Fire Department units responded to the scene at around 8:33 a.m.
Authorities have not specified the sequence of events leading up to the crash, but one vehicle overturned into a ditch off the interstate. Dispatchers indicated that the vehicle had traveled so far off the interstate that first responders were looking to access the scene off Silvernail Road.
Flight for Life was initially requested at the scene for one patient who was ejected as a result of the rollover, but the medical helicopter was unable to respond due to poor weather conditions. Crews at the scene were preparing the patient to be rushed to a local hospital via ambulance.
