MILWAUKEE, WI — A 48-year-old woman was fatally hit by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene early Saturday in Milwaukee’s Menomonee Valley area, according to WISN.
The fatal incident occurred at the intersection of Potawatomi Circle and Canal Street, just west of Potawatomi Casino Hotel, at about 1:45 a.m.
An early investigation shows the female pedestrian was traveling on foot when she was struck by an unknown vehicle. By the time first responders arrived in the area, the driver had left without stopping to render aid.
The victim was pronounced deceased, confirmed the Milwaukee Police Department.
According to a Potawatomi Casino Hotel spokesperson, the business’s security team was not alerted to a driver whose departure from the casino may have coincided with the incident. As of this writing, the MPD has not released a description of the fleeing suspect and/or vehicle.
