MILWAUKEE, WI — An MPD officer and a driver suspected of DWI were hospitalized Thursday morning following a crash in northwest Milwaukee, according to TMJ4.
Milwaukee Police Department officials said the wreck occurred at the intersection of North 76th Street (Wisconsin State Highway 181) and West Silver Spring Drive, at about 5:00 a.m.
A preliminary investigation found that the officer was driving a squad car when the vehicle was hit by a civilian vehicle whose driver failed to yield to the right-of-way while making a left turn.
Both the officer and the other driver, who was suspected of being intoxicated, were transported to a local hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
The MPD said the suspect was placed under custody pending an investigation.
