GREEN BAY, WI — A man was sent to the hospital Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle at a controlled intersection on Green Bay’s east side, reports We Are Green Bay.
The incident occurred at the corner of Webster Avenue and Porlier Street, near HSHS St. Vincent Hospital, shortly before 10:00 a.m.
Green Bay Police Department officials said the victim, a 59-year-old man, was walking across Webster Avenue. At one point, an 81-year-old man driving a limo “coach-type” van reportedly tried to make a left turn onto the road from Porlier Street when the vehicle hit the pedestrian.
The victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was transported to a local hospital.
Authorities said the driver received a citation for “Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian at a Controlled Intersection.”
The GPD continues to investigate the incident.
