MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — Two teenagers were taken into custody Friday morning, September 15, after a police pursuit led to a forced crash in Glendale, according to TMJ4.
Glendale Police Department said they initially received a call about a reckless driver near North Port Washington Road and West Silver Spring Drive. Officers were dispatched to the area at about 11:40 a.m.
Shortly after the suspect vehicle was located in the Bayshore Mall parking structure, the driver sped away, prompting officers to deploy “stop stick” tire-shredding devices along Port Washington Road. Authorities said the fleeing vehicle ultimately did come to a stop in a crash that involved a dump truck and possibly a UPS truck, both of which were found damaged at the scene.
With the assistance of Milwaukee Police, Glendale Police arrested two suspects, the 15-year-old male driver and a 14-year-old male passenger, from the fleeing vehicle.
The GPD has not reported any major injuries following the incident.
According to the MPD, the fleeing vehicle was linked to an armed carjacking that occurred at 5:00 a.m. that same day, in the 5700 block of North 75th Street.
The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office is expected to review criminal charges in the case.
