RACINE COUNTY, WI — A 36-year-old man was seriously hurt Saturday afternoon due to a rollover semi-truck crash in the town of Dover that left him trapped, reports FOX 6 Milwaukee.
Kansasville Fire and Rescue officials said the wreck occurred on Spring Street on September 9.
While the circumstances of the accident have not been specified, preliminary details indicate the man was driving a semi-truck with a refrigerated trailer that was carrying packaged dairy products. At one point, the semi overturned and came to rest on its side in a ditch. Crews also arrived to find a high-voltage power pole downed in the wreckage.
Because of the high-risk conditions created by the entangled pole, members of We Energies were called to the scene to assist first responders.
After the semi was stabilized, the driver, who suffered serious injuries, was extricated from the semi’s cab and then transported by Flight for Life to an area hospital.
Just after 2:00 p.m., the scene had been cleared from the roadway and all lanes were reopened to traffic.
