MILWAUKEE, WI — A vehicle crash early Sunday kept part of northbound Interstate 43 near downtown Milwaukee blocked for several hours, according to 511 Milwaukee.
The accident impacted the northbound side of I-43 at the Exit 72A ramp to West Michigan Street, in the Westown area. It was first reported by 511 at 2:37 a.m.
Local officials have not said what caused the wreck, but all northbound lanes of I-43 were closed for more than 3.5 hours.

By 6:11 a.m., only the right lane was reported blocked, but shortly after, the West Michigan Street offramp was shut down for more than another 1.5 hours.
By 7:51 a.m., crews had cleared the scene from the roadway and all lanes were announced reopened.
