RACINE COUNTY, WI — A 14-year-old boy from Racine was airlifted to a hospital Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle in east Mount Pleasant, according to FOX 6 Now.
Mount Pleasant Police said the incident occurred on Wisconsin State Highway 31 (South Green Bay Road), near Newman Road. Multiple callers alerted local authorities shortly after 9:23 p.m.
An early investigation shows that the boy was hit by a vehicle heading northbound on WIS-31, and its driver continued away from the scene without rendering aid.
South Shore Fire crews administered life-saving measures on the boy and then rushed him to a local hospital. He was then flown by Flight for Life to a facility with advanced medical care.
Authorities said the suspect vehicle has since been found and seized for processing, but the hit-and-run driver remains at large.
The Mount Pleasant Police Department and Wisconsin State Patrol continue to investigate.
