RACINE COUNTY, WI — A 14-year-old boy from Racine was fatally injured last Sunday, August 20, when he was hit by a vehicle in east Mount Pleasant, according to TMJ4.
Mount Pleasant Police said the incident occurred in the area of Wisconsin State Highway 31 (South Green Bay Road) and South Newman Road. Officers were dispatched to the scene at about 9:23 p.m.
Authorities have not specified the circumstances of the event, but preliminary details indicate the boy was struck by a northbound minivan on WIS-31. The driver continued away from the scene without stopping to render aid.
First responders rushed the young victim to an area hospital by medical helicopter, but he succumbed to his injuries the following day, August 21, 2023.
Though the striking vehicle has since been found and seized, Mount Pleasant Police said the hit-and-run suspect has not yet been identified or apprehended.
