MILWAUKEE, WI — A 17-year-old boy died Sunday night after a police chase led to a crash in northwest Milwaukee that injured nine others, including seven other teens, reports TMJ4.
The fatal wreck occurred at the intersection of North 68th Street and West Silver Spring Drive, in the Silver Spring neighborhood.
According to the Milwaukee Police Department, officers spotted a car that was involved in a recent armed robbery and tried to conduct a traffic stop the driver on Hampton Avenue. When the driver refused to stop, a pursuit was prompted, and the fleeing car ultimately struck an uninvolved vehicle at 68th and Silver Spring.
One of the occupants of the stolen vehicle, a 17-year-old boy, was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed officials. Seven of the vehicle’s other occupants including a 15-year-old boy, a 16-year-old boy, two 17-year-old boys, an 18-year-old Milwaukee woman, and two other unknown female occupants, suffered unspecified injuries.
The occupants of the second vehicle, two Milwaukee women aged 25 and 42, also both sustained unspecified injuries.
At this time, the MPD continues to investigate the crash, but authorities say occupants of the stolen vehicle face charges currently pending review.
