SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI — A 31-year-old man died Monday afternoon after a crash on Interstate 43 in west Sheboygan that left a young child injured, according to TMJ4.
The accident occurred on a span of I-43 at Exit 126A to Wisconsin State Highway 23. Dispatchers first received reports at around 4:30 p.m.
A preliminary investigation by the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office indicates the man lost control of his car, which then traveled into the path of a semi-tractor trailer, causing a crash.
The driver of the causing car died as a result of his injuries, confirmed officials. His passenger, a three-year-old toddler, was taken to Aurora Medical Center of Sheboygan County with minor injuries.
No injuries to the driver of the semi-tractor trailer were reported.
It remains unclear at this time what caused the decedent to lose control of his car, but an investigation was underway.
