OZAUKEE COUNTY, WI — Three people were hurt, one seriously, Monday afternoon due to a multi-vehicle crash on Wisconsin State Highway 60 in Cedarburg, reports TMJ4.
The Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office said the collision occurred at the intersection with Horns Corners Road at about 1:16 p.m.
An early investigation found that a 69-year-old Cedarburg woman was driving a Mazda when she stopped and waited to turn onto southbound Horns Corners Road. At one point, the Mazda was hit from the back by a Dodge Ram, and the impact sent the Mazda into eastbound traffic, causing it to be struck by a Hyundai.
First responders rushed the driver of the Mazda to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 39-year-old woman from Waukesha, sustained minor injuries. She was cited for “inattentive driving” following the crash.
The Hyundai driver, an 18-year-old woman from Cedarburg, also reported minor injuries.
Authorities had the highway shut down for nearly an hour during the emergency response and investigation.
